About Tina Schafer
Tina was born into an equestrian family. Her father was an international show jumper and instructor while her mother was in charge of breeding. Tina herself was also an international show jumper.
In 2010, Tina began her training as an equine physiotherapist. She attended school at the DIPO in Germany and continued her education by attending many workshops with international therapists throughout England, Canada and the United States.
During this time period Tina developed her own therapy method which she called “Equigetic.” Tina’s method involved treating each horse differently and with the goal of deriving and maintaining health. Treatment included:
Physiotherapy
Laser Acupuncture
Homeopathic Recommendations
Energy Bodywork
Magnetic Field/Zapper
The Equigetic Pad
After treating many horses, Tina discovered that many of them had painful tension in the sternum area. When Tina’s instructors and colleagues couldn’t show her a solution to this problem Tina decided to create her own.
Tina developed the Equigetic Pad and later the Equigetic Jump Pad.
Like any vertebrae, the sternum can be blocked in any direction. The entire chest is in contact with the sternum, and breathing and mobility are largely affected by it.
The Equigetic Pad is specifically developed to improve pressure distribution and prevent unpleasant pressure on the sternum. Every time a saddle girth is tightened the equigetic pad prevents pressure on the sternum by distributing pressure to the adjacent muscles and padding of neoprene or fur.. The pad is designed to be used for every horse in any discipline.
The equigetic pad is equipped with a channel for the sternum and special padding for the adjacent muscles. Designed with a loop in the middle of the pad and secured with two elastic strips with press studs, the pad can be attached to all conventional saddle girths. It conveniently comes padded in either neoprene or fur.
Equigetic Jump
For showjumping Tina developed a special stud guard girth with the equigetic channel system inside to avoid pressure on the horses sternum. For increased protection it has two plates to protect the horses from injuries and a complete padding of the inner surface to guarantee maximum comfort.
Elbow freedom is ensured by the anatomical shape and shorter stripping on the girth elastics which prevents from tightening the girth too tight.
The perfect stud guard girth for your horse! Available in neoprene and fur.
